Maximus Yaney

Maximus Yaney is known by friends as an aerospace and technology geek. However, colleagues know him best as the founder and former CEO of both Titan Aerospace, which he sold to Google in 2014, and Mohawk Group, Inc. In fact, in his professional career, Yaney has founded, co-founded, or been a founding member of more than five different technology and aerospace companies. Perhaps more impressive than his ability to plan and launch successful businesses that have employed countless individuals over the years is Maximus’s perseverance and ability to bounce back from various complications and hiccups. Specifically, in his first personal venture, Mr. Yaney admits he made “every mistake in the book” and saw his company crash and burn. This experience gave him a better education than college ever could have, and “after sobbing on the floor with fistfuls of carpet for a few hours,” he decided to get back up and start his next company. That venture had a successful five-year run in big data with clients including Cigna, Volvo, Verizon, Hewlett-Packard, Visa, and more. Later, Yaney founded Titan, leading to Titan Aerospace, which he started in his New York City apartment. Since Titan, Maximus Yaney has co-founded Mohawk, a multinational company with $100M in sales and most recently, Kangaroo, which is a home security company aiming to bring affordable, cutting-edge home security to people everywhere. When he is not working on his latest venture, Maximus enjoys extreme outdoor sports, modeling in Solidworks and reading physics books for fun.
